Help identifying exhaust and induction?

  Clio 182
Hello, I bought a 182. Unfortunately the previous owner passed away so I do not know a lot about the car. The car came with an induction kit and aftermarket exhaust (as well as the originals).

Firstly can you guys help me identify the makers of each? The exhuast I believe to be a prospeed from a reference in the guys previous postings.

Secondly, I find the exhuast a little loud and maybe 'droney' for my tastes. I would also prefer a much louder induction noise. I will try removing the acoustic valve later, failing that can you maybe recommend an exhaust and induction kit that would be more to my tastes?

Now the pictures:

Thanks in advance.

I googled the V6 one and can't see anything resembling this?

Does it looks like a generic pipercross one and a samco silicon hose to make it fit? Or is it an actual kit for the 182?

Thanks Dave, just did a bit of searching and people do rate it highly for both power and noise. Strange that I can't hear it! I will try the acoustic valve first and then maybe a new filter in it.

100% on the exhaust? The post the previous owner made did say he was going to 'replace my standard exhaust on my 182 to a prospeed since my standard was rotten'.

100% on the exhaust.

Comes with either a centre silencer, or straight through centre section. Think you've got the straight through pipe.

Thanks Dave, I will have a look at the second exhaust I got with the car. I see the post said the original was rotten, but from what I saw of the 2nd one I got it was ok - so maybe it is a prospeed.

What is your opinion on why I can't hear the induction noise? Acoustic valve make that much difference?

You've got the standard air feeds sitting in the opening, I'd rip them out, along with the acoustic valve. They're mainly there to meet EU regulations for noise.

IMO removing the acoustic valve on mine made no difference noise wise. Same for the R25v6 airbox in the same orientation compared to a std box within minutes of each other on the dyno last weekend. On mine the v6 box just sounds marginally louder than the std box with the upper inlet pipe removed.

Ok, here are pictures of the exhaust I now suspect to be prospeed, possibly with a reducer welded to it at the cat. Anyone have any other thoughts?

So do you have two exhausts, the ones first pictured and the one above?

Also I may be interested in taking your existing filter off your hands if you're wanting to go open cone for the 'noise'

is that the exhaust you have taken off it?

I have not taken anything off, I bought the car with the one pictured on it and also got the one pictured on the grass with it. Just trying to identify what is what.

I am not sure on the filter, I do not think I will go open cone. I am just surprised how little noise there is (i.e. no noise).
