help! keys circuit board for central locking , need new1 but where do i get 1 from??

Hey guys

Iv only got 1 key for my clio 172 cup and iv banged it. The button on the circuit board inside the key came off so central locking and alarm doesnt work, tried soldering it back on but still no good. its foooooked!

Were can i get a new circuit-board from or will i have to have a whle new key??
and how much am i looking at paying??

Iv googled it and everything but cant find nothing.

Whole new key, circa £150-200 stealers only. And it won't come overnight either.

I got mine from a specialist, still cost me £156! (And it is only the remote you get, no key!) mine took 5 days to come but they said it could have taken up to 14!

I had exactly the same problem as you, luckily mine worked when i soldered it, initially I was carrying a little bit of tin foil around with me to lock/unlock the car but the immobiliser still wouldn't work properly.

so i cant just go to renault and get a new circuit board and get it programmed for the car to go inside the key???????????????

someone i no has got a corsa and had the same problem, he took it somewhere and got in done for just under 100quid, he just had a new circuit board made and put it in the key but the place he took it to is not longer open but surely theirs more places like it!!!!!!

i live in derbyshire and dont want to travel to far and ill need the key obviously to drive the car so cant send it off.

Not true mate. You should be able to get a key cheaply, and then get it programmed to the car. Best bet is to have a look for any decent auto eleccys near you. If you had a key I could programme it for you, but it's getting the key that's the issue. What you could do it get a second hand one of ebay, remove the chip, put in your key, and then get it reprogrammed to your car.

why dont you go to a scrappy
and take the key circuit board and the circuit board under the aerial.
then put the circuit boards into yours????

chances are yours is a blank '173' plip and as such your dealer will have them in, it will still need to be programmed though
