Car was fully serviced within the last 4 months and the oil light on the dash has came on along with the service light.

The car was parked on a steep hill for around 3 hours but even then it was moved to a flat road and left for 10mins and it's still the same.

There is no oil leaks or anything that I have noticed and I can't work out why this is.

The oil that was used for the service was OE Renault Elf oil, can I mix it with castrol oil from the garage / halfords if need be ?

Have you checked the dip stick on it mate, whats the level like? I personally wouldnt mix oils but aslong as its the same 5w 40 then it shouldnt matter tbh.

The other half has the car just now and she is on her way home with it as it happened to her.
As soon as she is back I'm going to check all levels and have a look under the car also.

Why I check it via dipstick and if it's low how would this happen?

Can someone also tell me the exact amount of oil a 182 should take??

Had a good look at the car and checked the oil level and also under the car.
The oil level is fine with it sitting bang in the middle of the 2 marks on the dipstick.

The oil light as went off and oil now says fine so thinking it has to be either the way it was parked on a hill or the oil level sensor.

if it's gonna happen again, will probably just be a dodgy sensor mate. Had it on mine, was coming on occasionally, replaced the sensor and problem solved! was 8 pounds iirc
