Help needed - Possible PAS Pump issue

Hi guys

My car is making a really loud whining noise. It makes the noise predominately when steering and when revving.

This makes me believe that the PAS pump is knackered? Possible bearing failure caused by running the pump low on fluid etc by the previous owner?

See below for a short video, any help would be much appreciated and some insight into how much its gonna cost to replace?

in the vid you can hear me moving the steering from side to side and then again whilst revving the engine.

Mine sounds kinda like that but much less severe. I'm fairly sure mine is PAS pump, has it got worse gradually?

Yeah when taking a roundabout now at about 30 or so you can really hear it whine lol

does it whine without moving the wheel too? Like with the revs?

Yeah when i first start it its quite loud but once warmed its not too bad on idle. Then when revving you can deinfitly hear it whine. you can hear me just revving it in the video too briefly i think

No it's second hand. I kept it as a spare for myself.

Oh okay, would it not be best to fit a new one? if i can find one that is.

Think i might attempt to replace it myself if i can find some info on here.

My own is leaking so i rang Renault to price a replacement..450 euro lol

Are the 172/182/cup pumps any different to a normal clio pump?

The pumps themselves are the same across the range. It's the pipe work that's different
