the hot air from the filter wont be helping the fuel consumption at all. tbh there arnt many mods u can do the 172 without spending alot of money on it. the F4R engine is pretty maxed out. a common exaust mod is a 182 manifold with decat with yozzasport, Miltek or K-Tech Stealth. Matched Inlets are Supposed to give some decent power gains but again its all money. If i wanna spend a 4 figure some u could get a throttle body kit. hope it helps mate.

Decent filter (V6 Espace for instance) + de-cat + Yozza System would be a good starting point.

Get rid of that Pipercross lol :D

why does everybody put a de cat on?

just lob the end of the cat off & make the outlet hole to i think a 2.5" or 3" outlet & then get cat back system, the gasses will flow much better. obv not as good as removing cat all together but will pass m.o.t still.

Works on the 182 cat but not so on the 172 cat.
