HELP!!! Painting my engine!

i want to paint the part under the plastic cover (sorry no technical speak im no good with engine parts) the silver bit, mine is looking abit worse for ware, and i wanted to paint it, i know it gets hot so im assuming it needs a specific type of paint? anyone know what type and whats the best way to go about painting it? thanks guys!
