Looking forward to part two and fairplay for doing it yourself. I love doing stuff myself, makes you feel loads better than just dropping it off at a garage and throwing money away.

  dan's cast offs.
can't get oil filter off, can't get fuel rail off, can't get injectors out of rail...googled your name and this came up

Fitted the new injector into the rail easily enough.. but cant get them to plug back into the engine. Put a bit of oil on the o rings but they just wone pop!

Dont worry about the up down movement, look at each injector to see if the o ring is pushed in to the inlet the same amount on each one. it is really hard to get them all in without lubrication. Wd40 or a little engine oil around the o ring will go a long way to helping.

Then fit the 2 bolts holding the fuel rail. this will sometimes help the injectors push in a little more if they arent in enough.

I wouldnt worry too much though, if the o rings are in the inlet then all will be well.

wiggle up and down whilst pushing with both hands , try starting from one side and working your way across.

I didnt know the orange bit needed to be in too!

Thanks again all. Was only meant to be an oil change, but £60 and 6 hours later, oil is changed and I have a new injector, yay.

Brilliant stuff.

I look forward to the thread about changing brake discs ending in you asking for help on how to get the gearbox back in. :tongueout:

On a serious note, well done for having a go yourself and sticking at it.

My rear brake pads are getting low.. what can go wrong!
