Help please.. have I broken my car?

Doing an oil change, emptied the oil, trying to get the oil filter off and ive caught this wire which I know is connected to the fuel rail, and a tiny bit of fuel sprayed out.

Has this unplugged or snapped?

Yeah, you've broken injector No.1... new injector will be required i'm afraid fella.

Looks like it's snapped the top of the injector connector off.

The magneti marelli injectors are OEM.

You'll need to take the fuel rail off.

Remove the feed line on the left of the rail, squeeze and pull (some fuel will come out, so have a rag to catch it)

2 x 10mm bolts to get the rail off and then pull/wiggle the rail to get it out.

Pop the metal clip off the injector and pull out. Usually helps with a little twist.

I'm very much like this. Snapped the dipstick putting an engine cover back on. Also scratched my paint removing my spoiler. Ace innit.

Yeah, they're s**t at the best of times unless you can under the filter. You want either a strap type or my personal weapon of choice, a Claw!

Oh and don't forget to disconnect each electrical connector on the injectors or you'll probably snap the rest off too.

Get aload of newspaper underneath then get a screwdriver through the filter.

Those grip type ones are useless unless you get under the car, so you can properly swing off it.

When I changed my oil last I had to resort to ramming a screwdriver through the filter as the strap undoer wouldn't work.
Sad news on the injector. Wonder if anyone local to you off here has any? Whack a wanted post up asap.
Oh and whenever I work on the car something invariably goes wrong and brakes, usually something unconnected to what I'm doing!! Your not alone.

Hindsight here for you now, but whenever you do an oil change, make sure you can loosen the oil filter before draining the oil.

No don't drive on 3 cylinders! Have you got a long screwdriver? They're not that strong from the side, just make sure you dont destroy it completely so it wont turn. Hit it all the way through. Or use some nice large water pump pliers on it.

If that broken injector's leaking fuel then I wouldn't run the engine for what I'd hope are fairly obvious reasons.

As for screwdrivering it, give it the Terry's Chocolate Orange treatment.

No mate didnt try as no way of getting to him.

Got the oil filter off after stabbing it, moving it a cm, stabbing it, etc etc. Gonna try and get the injector off so that its ready to fit tomorrow.
