You've bought the wrong bulb then.

I'm guessing you've bought a festoon

and you're number plate bulb is actually

yea the top one is wot ive bought, but the bottom one is different to that, its bigger and has a metal part at the bottom
i gt it off ebay n it says its for clio ect....

You bought the wrong one, you want one that has a baynet bulb dont you. The feaston one you bought will fit in the glove box and the boot. you want one that looks like this.

I have a new one here, you can have for £5 posted. Cheers

And have you put the bulb back in the right way, sounds mad but same happened to me.

cheers for the info mate, lol thats what i thought but ive checked and it seems to be in the rite way, it can only go in one way cant it, coz of the way the pins are?

Numberplate light holders rust so quickly on my clios so look at the connections in the bulb holder and on the bulb itself. They will prob need cleaning.

do u mean the metal bit wer the bulb will get its conection from? this was a green coulour lol, as if it was mouldy and yea dirty, wt should i do to clean it and do you think it will work after?

just tryd and had the bulb in both ways and its not working, weird coz it worked before i took it out today, could the bulb have gone or the actual bulb holder?

Mine was all green and the new bulb wouldnt work at all, strange how the old one did lol

I took it out and cleaned all the contacts up with a small file and all is working now

did u not need a new bulb?ive scraped a bit of the green off with a screw driver and cant see why its still not working, think i best try a new bulb n see if it is just the problem
