Help please.. think iv been flashed agen

Right the cameras that flash you for jumping red lights, just been drving thru rotherham, went thru an amber light and the lights had a camera on them, a fiesta behind trying to race me went thru on red, the camera flashed twice, who did it get?? please help if i get another 3 points im band!! can i get 3 points for this etc dont really know anythig about it

Should be the fiesta that gets done although if the camera shows that both of you were passing through illegally it might have a pictures of you both.

It might be possible that the fiesta will just get done though as it would be obvious that he would have been the one that set the camera off.

If you knew the Fiesta was trying to race you, had you been travelling together for some distance?

If so then it seems you were winning.

So if you are close to being banned, why are you racing other cars, speeding (hard to race within the limits) and blasting through lights as they change?

I think youll be all right but perhaps you really have to cool it until licence clear again?

How long before that happens?

agreed, you get what you get, should be taking it easy if your on 9 pts, and they flash twice to show going over the line and past the line.

u should b fine m8, cameras flash twice and theyll have him going through it after u so hell b the 1 that gets done, amber is ok and alot of the time they give u a second of red b4 itll flash anyway!! as sometimes is dangerous 2 suddenly stop

you will be okay with this, you went through on amber not red and they can deduce where you are by the timer on the camera and where you are on the road by the road markings.

Your License is safe...the Fiesta is getting the tickets as the Red Light cameras only activate on Red !!!

Sometimes though, as the authorities who look after these cameras dont have enough time to examine each picture individually, someone might look at the photo, see your numberplate (assuming that the fiesta was close enough to you for you both to be on the photo) and send out letters to both of you.

This happened to me, on a two lane 30mph dual carriage way - i was doing dead on 30 in the left hand lane, when a police car came roaring past, lights flashing, overtaking me at about 60mph just as we were passing the speed camera. Of course, it flashed and I recieved an NIP a few days later. I requested to view the photos, and sure enough there was the police car as well as my car. I wrote back explaining this, and then had another letter apologising, and saying something like "due to the volume of alleged speeding incidents, it is impossible to check all photos".

So, if you do get mail, id write back, request the photos, and send a nicely worded letter explaining what happened.

they flash twice to record your speed, first is a reference point, then after a set time it flashes again and from the distance you have travelled in that time your speed can be calculated.

Another thing, they still flash with no film in....youll just have to sweat it out m8

if the red light camera was loaded you can normally check by walking up to it and you can see if the camera is there in the top hole, the way it works is that there are loops cut in the road, they look like a black square, there is one loop before the stop line and one after. When the light turns red it has a 1 second delay and then when you pass over the loop before the stop line and then continue over the second loop, the camera activates. Be careful tho because if your going thro junctions at high speeds they will have you for it. I think red light cameras are positive action.

It sounds like you were racing through these lights? How fast were you going through them? You say you will be banned if you are given any more points. These points are earned not given. Should you end up facing a ban in court, the judge may call you a "Totter". Thats their pet name for people who dont seem to learn by the previous warnings/points.

Do you think if you are banned, would you learn from this? or will you continue to be a Totter?

As you are possibly facing a ban, I really do hope you are very lucky this time. It would be a good time to realise how close you have come to being off the road. I do hope you get the chance to learn from this and keep my fingers crossed for you.
