Help Please!

Bought a 95 clio 16v two months ago and the cam belt went - aarrgh! Still, bought a new head, gaskets, timing belt and cam belt and have fitted it all but the bloody thing wont quite strat! It nearly does - anyone else had this/got any ideas? Also, where does the heat sheild go that i pulled out from near the exhaust manifold? CAnt seem to put it back anywhere!! All help appreciated!

chances are uve got a load of bent valves etc. Very unlikely ur belt snapped without causing any other damage.

Got a new head mate and put that on so ive got new valves - bent the last ones on the old head i had though - damn thing just wont quite kick into life!

Ive got it all built back together - all new parts that went wrong - is it typical of clios to to take some real encouragement to get started again after they have been standing for about a month? It may just be that the thing needs to get all the relevant fluids around the engine before it will start again
