Help re. fog lights

Ive managed to get the actual fog light units out of the front bumper of my 16v, but cant get the surrounds that hold them out. Theyre plastic casings that go all around the hole in my bumper. They need to come out as Im having the bumper re-sprayed!

This car is starting to become like open-wallet-surgery!

erm......not sure what you mean there mate. Theres the plastic surround that is actually attached to the fog lamp itself, the fog light is just clipped in to this. Ive currently got both foggies off mine and theres nothing on the bumper like what your describing mate - any pictures?

i know what your on about but why not just leave them to get sprayed, there not seen when the fogs put back in.

lost me too. u undo the philips screws either side of the light and they easily come straight out. the whole thing. like pete says

The heads of the screws rounded off when I tried to get the fogs off!

So I resorted to tried and tested tactics - I bashed them off! Sadly, only the light units came out, not their surrounds, which are still attached becuase the screws are still screwed in I guess!

Any ideas for tiny rounded off screws? I cant drill these one out!

i think youll have to take the front bumper off mate and attack them from the rear!

Oh yeah: BTW how do I take the splitter off? It seems to be rivetted on with about 100 rivets!

Drill out the rivets!

But then how do I put it back on? What do I used to rivet the rivets back in? Cheers!

a pop rivet gun, youll have to hire one mate cos there very expensive especially if your only going to be using it once!

Hmm. Sounds like Im either going to mask the splitter or get the bodyshop to do it.
