Help...Sat nav maps

I have just been offerd a really cheap new sat nav/pocket pc its called a 7000xl typhoon??? seems to be ok and does a load of crap that dont really want.
The question is does anyone know anything about these?? is it pos to download europe maps for free?????? please help

what operating system does it run on

if its windows ce then u can get aditional maps, providing its capable of running a version of tom tom maps are easily sourced

itll prolly be on windows ce so u should be fine to add tom tom
