HELP SERVICE LIGHT WITH AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME UP

  Clio 1.2 8V Authentique
The other day i was tinkering under my driver side seat and then i noticed the Sevice Light came up with the Air Bag Light.

I have herd from people that the sensors are very tempramental and can just be knocked and then need resetting.

I need to take it to a Renault Dealer anyways to get the Hood Lid Catch looked at beaucse i got a letter about that, also i tryed fixxing my Lighter as well but aitn working so i will get everything done at once.

But i was wondering the price of the Air Bag Light comming up and maybe what happened to make it come up. I havent crashed the car or bummped anything so i cant really put a reason to it but the chair? :dapprove:

so any thoughts guys??

Have a fiddle with the wires under the front seats, it'll go off. Its just a bad connection, common thing.

yea proberly the best part of £70 to basically chop the connector out and solder the wires together.

You dont need to pay anything mate, i wouldnt bother telling renault, just play with the wires.

If that doesnt work, disconnect battery, wait 30mins, and unplug and plug back in.

Basically as said cut the connectors and solder the wires together. Most of the time a fiddle will sort it out though.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CUT OFF OR SOLDER ANYTHING. It is so simple to fix this problem. Use the search button - it's been documented on here many times already.

If the fault is still there (connectors not connecting/giving high resistance) disconnecting the battery wont do jack i'm affraid. If the ecu doesn't read the seat airbag/pre-tentioner resistance it flags up the light, as soon as it reads the resistance again, (fault fixed) the light will extinguish. Just give em a wiggle ;)
