HELP!!!!! Slidy passenger seat issues!!!

Hola! Got my 172 at the start of the week and absolutely love it! only slight prob is its a bit like a rolllercoaster for my passengers cos the pass seat won't lock into place when you have lifted the seat to allow access to back seat, took to a garage and they said that it needed strippin out and lookin at (at a lovely charge pf #60+vat just to look at) wondered if anyone had any ideas before i hand my baby over!!! thanking you!!!

Do it yourself, only a couple of bolts holdin the seat on. Im sure fubar could make you a mini guide.

hahaha am not great at diy!! stick me behind wheel and i'm great! but not great at twiddling with bolts n stuff!! haha! cheers tho!!! :S

The seat needs to be slid right back until you here the clunk then it can be moved forward again.

Take off the plastic trim closest to the door, if you look you will see the arms that dig into the runners to stop them sliding just push them down! Id also check that the handle that lets people into the back is still taught and the cable hasnt snapped

I'll do that cheers! think it is summat to do with the handle so will have look at that!

t20 torx key for the plastic bit but once its off it all becomes fairly obvious

same, i need to get this fixed, my passengers cant move the chair back so only shorties can sit at the front lol

Girlfriends did this. Something broke on the runner, so went to a scrappy and got another and problem solved. Free too.

mines dodgy. I let people in the back and then struggles to get it to click. I have to slam it backwards and jobs done.

torx key, star key... Needed to to remove the plastic cover...

The pin that lifts the catch on the runner had broken on mine, replaced with a boit and thick alloy washer, bolted it up then spun it in a drill against a grinder to get it the correct diameter, works perfectly now

its funny in my car when my mates from college get in at dinner because because my passenger seat is always quite far back who ever is in the front has to crush the person behind them's legs so it clunks so it can be moved forward
