HELP - Waxing for Looks & Shine

  "Navy" N17 TWO
Which polish/wax combo would you reccomend for best looks on Pearl Black paint?

I have already polished with SSR 2.5 and applied AG SRP & EGP.
I'm not very happy with the finish - only really comes to life in direct sunlight. Also the EGP as it has turned out streaky and blotchy after the first wash :( - it was perfect when it was buffed off.

Could I improve the looks of the car by going over it with the machine polisher (maybe a different polish) then applying a good wax on top?

Cheers
Trev

Menzerna Final Finish, a nice Glaze such as Clearkote VM or Megs 7 or a decent Pre Wax cleaner such as Swissvax Cleaner fluid and then a clear looking non muting Carnuba Wax.

The Flake in Pearl Black is very fine so will need bright sun for best effect though.

It looks like the EGP is dried onto the body in tiny dark grey spots here & there :(

What difference will there be between the SRP & EGP combo and..... say for example I polished with Megs #80, topped with Megs #21 :)

I would go with the Zymol or swissol pre-wax and Wax combo! May be expensive to buy, but when you see the results u wont b disappointed! I do mine bout every 3 months so a tub lasts bout 2 years!

I already have the megs products, and nattys blue, souveran, and clearkote VM & moose wax

VM and Souveran going for looks alone IMO

Other glazes such a CLearkote VM and Megs 7 will look better than the HD Cleanse or Cleaner Fluid.

The AG Combo will be more durable.

Reli? Didn't think I could get any better! Will have to try that!

The car was redone since;

Polished with Menzerna IP p091l on sfx-2 pad
Clearkote Vanilla moose hand glaze applied by PC on a blue DAS pad
Waxed with Clearkote moose wax (hand applied with mf pad)

Can I maintain this finish with a regular gentle wash & wax? :)

You can keep it topped up with something like a coat of Jeffs after a wash to keep a good level or protection. If you don't have Jeffs something even quicker would be Duragloss Aquawax or OCW.

Not tried it before if it's this, but it looks like it works well with the glaze you've used.

Might want something like the Swissvax Onyx or CG 50/50 maybe once a month as a proper wax to keep it topped.

I thought you would have it on top of the glaze already. I would top it up with the better wax myself to keep the layers there.

I put 2 coats of the moose wax on top of the glaze same day - last Thursday :)

Just wondered would another wax look better on top or stick to one

Got a quick snap in he sun after a shower of rain

You can see the water clinging to the sides - when the sun dries it in it marks the finish - don't like that :dapprove:

How can I keep the finish looking mint? :)

I think I've re-swirled the car after washing yesterday :dapprove:

Hosed off
shampoo & 2 bucket method
Megs MF mitt
Rinsed
Pat- dried with MF towel
Then given a final inspection with Megs Last Touch & plush MF cloth

dont like the megs MF mitts, i got swirls with one. could be the prob

also trev mate, best off using something like QD to spritz over the car thenpat dry.

i do same, but then aquablade it, then spritx each panel with megs qd or 36 final inspection then dry with aquatouch massive plush towels. dont like the MF ones as they arent deep enough pile for my liking.

The drying towel I used has a real deep pile to it - certainly a lot thicker & softer than the sonus der wunder drying towels.

If the swirls are back - will the swirls just be in the coat of wax, or do I need to start from square 1 again?

Swirls are normally in the paint.

Having said that, I recently clayed my car with the old Sonus Green and noticed some marks had been removed so presuming they were fine traces of products that hadn't been 100% removed, or else just very fine marks.

But yes, swirls in the paint need polishing away I am afraid.

Just what I was dreading :(

Most of the marks I can only see them at night under a streetlight where the car is parked.

Don't notice much in sunlight or even with a halogen lamp :S

Any better ideas for the above process?
I have a megs lambswool mitt - falls apart after about 6 washes :(
