Help with lowering

  Renault Clio mk1
I understand that he torsion bar has to be tweeked on the rear , but im only lowering 55mm on the rear, do i need to mess with the torsion bar ?

Cars with a torsion bar do not have springs so yes, only way to lower the ride height is to pull out the bar and turn it a couple of clicks.

There may be a guide somewhere in the technical part of the forum (you'll have to join to get access) either way you'll want to get and soak the torsion bar in penetrating oil (not WD40 as it's s**t) as it'll more than likely put up a fight.

ive got the haynes manual and it tells you how , and the bars dont look too bad but a bit of grease wont hurt

If its anything like a pug/cit torsion bar then it shouldn't be lowered via the clicks method as this can lead to uneven ride height on left and right sides.

Nothing wrong with lowering on splines, if you don't understand you need to measure/check the height then tbh you probably shouldn't be playing with the suspension in the first place.
