Help with PC Computer???

When I plug my Wireless card in the PCMCIA slot it makes a bing noise but the device thingy doesn't come up on the bottom right bar, what am I doing wrong, how do I fix it?

Firstly PC = Personal Computer.

Secondly, if it's binging you've just cooked your PCMCIA card in the microwave, try your laptop instead.

See if it says anything in the Device Manager that might help, or if there is an exclamation mark on the left hand side against it.

Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager

I would go into Start>Settings>Network Connections first to see if Wireless is listed as an option in there, if it is right click it and click Enable. It could just be that the wireless utility has been disabled.
