help with starting issue

My car was running fine its a 2002 172 and just stopped starting

turns over very very slowly for a few turns
will not fire

ive put a new bat on it still nothing immobiliser light going off

just pulling my hair out

any help would be great

Sounds like a poss starter motor issue - but first check all earth cables

Thing is it once it's fired will fire time after time until it's left for an hour or so I'm going to clean the tdc senser tomorrow see what that does

Its not a tdc issue.

That is the engine not turning fasy enough to fire.

Earth issues
Battery issue
Starter dying or really struggling.

Get some jump leads from the earth of battery and clamp onto the engine block, or gearbox... see what happens.

Earth strap from gearbox to chassis passenger side common for rotting....

dogdey starter motor selanoid,change the starter motor.

Just earthed it with jump lead to engine block straight into life will try again in a hour to make sure its no a 1 off :quiet:

Is this an ok place to earth the battery as car just wont start where it was (down by light)

Ideally you want it on the bell housing blots but if it works it will do until tou can do that.
