Help Yellow/Red Wires on new stereo install

right, got a sony cdx-f7750 the other week along with the connects2 ipod adaptor and steering/dash controls. installed it all when i got it but left the red/yellow wires how they were for the power connector. didnt remember the settings. tried the other two ways that are shown in the install instructions, neither of them seem to work for remembering the settings.

the options are:

1- red to red/yellow to yellow
2- red to yellow/yellow to red
3- red and yellow both to yellow - for cars without ACC position

which one of these is the right one for my 2001 clio expression. sick of taking the thing in and out so would like to get it sorted. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

most likely red to red yellow to yellow. The way to cjeck it is connect it up tune and save a station switch the igntion off turn it back on and if it has saved the station its all good.

well from messing about with them so far ive found that i can turn the ignition off and it will remember it but if i come back to it the next day then the settings will be gone. any ideas?

Leave the igntion switched off for 30 seconds and see what happens. If a stereo loses its memory then all you do is swap the red and yellow with each other.

right i'll give it a go, but like i say if it keeps the memory after the 30 seconds but then loses it after a longer period, like overnight, would that suggest a problem with the headunit itself and not just the wiring?

Either hu or battery would be my main suspects, bit weird that.

Yeah does sound like the HU. My Kenwood is Red - Red and Yellow - Yellow in my Clio. If i tune a station in and save it with the conections the wrong way round it forgets basically the instant you turn the ignition off.
