Help!!

Got a 172 mk2 with 52k on the clock and have recently noticed a metal-on-metal sound at low speed (1st and 2nd). It sounds like a metal rub and is a whirring noise. Only seems to be when in gear, not when coasting. At higher speeds (or gears) its not there, or not noticable. Any ideas what it could be or more importantly how much will it cost to put right?

Nowhere near Portsmouth mate. Anyone reccomend a renault specialist in West or North East London? Gonna need the 54k service soon.

Sorry i don't know any decent reanult specialists in or around London, but Theres lots of members from around those parts. It might be worth starting a new post to see who they recommend.

Dont think so.. Seems to be under power not under braking.

Yeah Reanault r a rip off, in London at least. In Spain it was £20 an hour labour and that was expensive. anyone used Renault london West?

No mate. Redding is just down the M4. Those guys good with 172's? I need a 54k service too.. I work for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and can bring doughnuts for the whole workshop if there is a discount in it... :S
