HELP!!!!

Any ideas folks??

Just bought a 54 plate 182 with 45k.
It has FSRH
After i've driven it for a while i get a quiet tapping noise when the car is stationary and just ticking over!
Also it smokes more than any other car i;ve had..... not sure if this is because it has 2 exhausts and i can see it more, i mainly use the car for short journeys aswel, and sometimes it's not used for 2-3days!!

Any suggestions??
Hope i dont have fork out a shed full of cash

Could be the carbon cannister..does it come from behing the driverside headlight??

only notice it when i'm in the driving seat!
will have a proper listen 2nit!
if it's coming from somwhere else, any idea what it could be?

Yep I noticed mine from the drivers seat..but its louder if you put your ear to the headlight.

or what about a noisy tappet..can get this oil (cant remember what its called) and it can stop noises like that.

or is it something vibrating in the car..like sunroof? ..some thing in glovebox?
