Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

I posted the thread below yesterday (in bold) because I am having trouble getting the damned timing cover bracket off to gain access to the water pump. I had one reply saying to try a T30 torx. can anyone confirm or elaborate on this, before I go and try to get one?

Thanks

I have just found this forum and I wonder if anyone can give me some advice?

I am attempting to change the water pump on my son's Clio 1.2 Versailles (N-reg, 1172cc) and I'm having problems getting the bracket off that the engine mounting plate screws into on the r/h side of the cylinder head.

There are 2 hex-head bolts at the top which aren't a problem, but then below, I'm not exactly sure what else needs to be undone. There are 2 domed-head bolts that i think may have either a splined or torx drive. I've tried offering a splined-bit into these to determine the size, but because of their location, it is so fiddly to gain access to do this. Also, there are 2 smaller hex-head bolts (10 A/F and 13 A/F). Do these need to be undone aswell to remove this bracket.

Any advice on what tools to use and how to go about doing the job would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks Mate

I just realised that I had a kit that went up to T40 and neither of them were any good. This bracket is a real pain to get off!!!!

Do you know of any other problems that I may encouter or any other special tools that I may need once I have removed this? I am going to replace the timing belt, pulleys etc. and the water pump.

Cheers
