Hi folks...little help please...

Yesterday my clio started stuttering REALLY badly, ive got a square(ish) light flashing on the far right of the panel...i was advised that it would most likely be the coil pack.

I purchased one today, its quite long and thin but i can see nothing that looks like it in the engine bay!

Have i been given the wrong part?

Am i a r****d?

If the answers yes to both questions i would really appreciate some help!

Firstly wot model is it?

an exact year etc... will help us greatly.

And if your car doesn has the "pencil" coils there are 4 of them that cud be at fault....

Its a 01 1.2 16v



And it is a mighty dynamique!

right, in that case you have been given the wrong coil pack.

the 1.2 16v engine

uses a small square coil pack with the 4 plug leads attatched to it (non removable)

So u need to go get it changed for that.

There are many other possisbilities that can be causing the problem too....

Yes i thought that would be the thing...any idea how much it will cost?

IIRC when i last paid for one its about £55 as its one unit.

Ive had 2 go on mine already since ive owned the car.

Also check the electrics at the back fo the engine (metal housing) those wires can get cut away or soaked by water...... and cause similar problems.

Ok guys coil pack and plugs changed, still the same...

What else could it be?

Problem diagnosed...damaged wiring loom.
