Hi guys new to the forum, Just bought a 182 an would like a few tips

  Clio 182 ff cup pack
Hi guys, ive just bought a 54 plate 44k black gold clio 182 with cup packs,
Id like some advice with regards to tuning, im thinking subtle improvements.
What i have in mind is,
Legal tints all round,
k&n/ pipercross cold air induction kit,
Chip/ remap (any recommendations)
Twin strut braces.
Thats all i have planned for now, it has full renault service history and has had one lady owner from new.
I paid just under 5k and collect on friday... The salesman i bought it from in renault wolverhampton/ wednesbury told me it has already been fitted with a performance exhaust which he said has brought the 0-60 to around 6.4/ 6.5 seconds ( i think millteck ) although not 100% i shall find out friday, it also has the suspension, chassis, alloy wheel cup pack upgrade...
Id appreciate any advice as im new to all this, this is my first "fast car" and id like to tinker with it to get the best out of it... Cheers guys

Lol il give you that one, you noticed i didnt get an a in english, but seriously any tips lads?

Re: Hi guys new to the forum, Just brought a 182 an would like a few tips

Dont bother with tints, look crap on Clio's

The exhaust will have done nothing to the 0-60 time, just replaced the standard rusty one (probably)

Dont bother with an induction kit, they loose you power, the standard air-box is good enough..

In terms of a map, get hold of an RS Tuner 2nd hand from here, wont give you a performance increase but will improve the drive.

Id also say you paid maybe £1K too much, but as long as your happy with the car....

Check if both the belts have been done (by Renault or a Specialist) this will be £600 extra for you to pay...

Welcome to the forum :)

I pretty much agree with what Matt said. Dont bother with tints, they dont look good imo (although I do have them ATM, but not through choice).

But you have an R26, they look ok with tinits, clios dont! lol

They suit tints a lot better than a clio yeh, but I wouldn't choose to have them.

To be fair, what Tony says is very true. The Renault peeps did an alright job on the 182 - straight out of the box. In nearly 7 years of ownership of mine, I've swapped out the air filter, replaced the springs with a set of Eibach Sportlines and got a Janspeed exhaust when the OEM backbox looked like Swiss cheese. Those are the only non-cosmetic mods I've made. It's the other side of 90k on the clock now and it still feels great. I would certainly live with it for a few months before you start replacing bits - get used to how it feels and behaves first.

My 10p worth anyway.... :)
