HI I'M A NEW MEMBER NEEDING HELP PLEASE

Wanting to reset service light on my clio197 2006.
Just had a cambelt change inc waterpump..new plugs oilchange ,K and N filter
Service now light on
Have tried to fool it as on YOUTUBE by inserting card then disengage clutch..so as not to start engine .
press top button until service due comes up then pressed
top button should of gone back to stating service due 18000 miles DID NOT WORK FOR ME
anyone done this or any otherway...many thanks

Dno if it's the same on cars, but when my work van service light cums on I have to keep it out of gear and rev it at above 4500rpm for 15seconds and it goes off! But like I said not sure if it's the same with cars!

Press the bottom toggle button for 10 seconds and the display will start to flash. Keep button depressed until the service counter resets?

or click the stalk buttons until get the service due message up and then keep hold of the two bttons (the ones u scroll thru the menu with) until the message disapears.

Thanks for this it worked it now saying service in 12,000 miles [but why not 18,000 ??]

Servicing is every 12,000 miles or 1 year, which ever is first on the clios I believe.

I actually think its a pretty poor thing if anyone can scroll through the menu & reset the service computer- it should be only available when serviced -- it seems very open to abuse from dishonest people-

Exactly what i was thinking. i know people who have garages stamps and just reset service timers and stamp its been done. sell car saying it had a service the same week they gonna sell it

If i was going to sell my car i wouldnt mind paying a bit of cash for it to be turnt off. if i serviced my car and didnt plan to sell it then it wouldnt bothr me

I would hate to have the light left on. Much rather do it myself.

I agree. I always keep any parts receipts too to back up whats been changed. The mileage I do im 306 Rallye it would cost me a fortune to take it to a garage every 2 - 3 months and a cambelt every 2 years.

no, as i said, there isn't an interval light on a mk2 clio. I'm going to take a guess that it's an airbag warning and one of your pretensioner wires has been disturbed under the front seats

My airbag light is on too but I don't have an airbag as I've changed the steering wheel.

I just assumed it came on as I have a service due this month.

Oil is fine so it must be for my airbag light.

I'll have a fiddle with the wires under the seat

If you have removed the airbag on the steering wheel it will be that causing the airbag and service light to be on.

while you lot moan about being able to do it yourself, most cars that can be done with computer tell you in the handbook how to do it

I'm guessing the resistor in there have died so honing to change them.

I honestly thought the service light came on when it was due service not when there was a fault.
