HID Conversion Kit - H7 - Won't fit in my Clio MK2 PH2?? Help please?

  Honda. Tesla Someday
Hello all,

I am selling the Golf GTi and am back in the world of Clio's!

I have recently bought a Clio MK2 PH2 1.5 DCI 65BHP - 2002 plate.

I just removed the HID conversion kit from my Golf (MK4 GTi) and was trying to fit it in the Clio. Then all of a sudden, disaster struck!! It won't fit!!! The fitment is wrong! :( - same bulbs though, H7's!

In the golf, the clips hold the HID bulb in place, simple.

In the Clio, the wiring n everything is as one unit, and the HID has its own wires hanging out of it, so how on earth do I get this in? Is there some sort of converter or something required??

HID kit I have is similar to this: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=3748538

All help appreciated,

Thank you.

It sounds like you'll need aftermarket bulb holders to enable the bulb to be fitted into your Clio, from how you've explained it. Search on eBay for bulb holders for a Ph2 Clio, and see if it brings back any search results.

Is this what you mean? You need to take the metal clip thing you can see in the picture off the existing bulb holder and put it on the HID bulb.

Excellent!!

Erm... how do I put I put it on the HID bulb? LOL Does it just slot/twist on?

Ahhhh, gottcha.

What you need to do, using James' photo as reference, see the rubber bung thats holding all the wires together? - You need to take a stanley knife/blade, and very carefully cut that away, so that all of the wires are individual, rather than bundled together, and then you'll beable to feed the wires through the middle of the metal holder and fasten it into place.

When you've fed the wires through, you'll see that the metal holder will sit flush with the face of the base of the bulb, you'll need to use your thumb and your fore fingers to pull the wires tight, and hold the bulb & holder together, put it into place and twist the whole lot to one side - it'll be either left or right, obviously, it'll only go one way.

It's a little bit tricky, and it might take a bit of fiddling, or different methods of holding the holder and the bulb together, but it'll be fine once you've got it into place.

Hope that helps.
