HID's on a 172 cup?

mmm thought they might, i know they obvioulsy dont have projector lenses so can imagine them looking a bit gash. Tried to find pics etc on here but wasnt having much luck. My mate with a ph-slow has them on and they look really smart

As Jamie says, they'd look awful as well as blinding every other road user coming head on to you. I just used those high brilliance bulbs from Halfrauds in my Cup.

  A sexy one
I had the 4300k ones in mine, was awesome at night and they looked really good as was just a perfect clean colour not pure white/blue

HID looks awful ? and your running bulbs from halfords ? HID kit is much better if you get the 4.3k as said its a OEM colour looks spot on

Unless they are OEM, I think they look crap. You can pick out after market kits a mile off.

Looks shat.

And as of next year (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) but they will be illegal and won't pass MOT without projector headlights.

No they don't. They have a horrible glare which is more often than not blinding. Halfords ones are like OEM but better.

Just buy a car with xenons. Failing that, get some uprated halogens. Osram Nightbreakers are good. Way better visibility than the Clio xenons anyway.

They look sh*t and they are illegal. Do it.

I had some on my 1.2. I thought they looked good at first and then I grew up and realised they looked sh*t, especially in the rain, where they were down right dangerous to other road users.

nope if hid's are fitted and the headlamps have self leveling or headlamp washers fitted the have to work if they are not fitted then it will pass nothing to say they need to be projection headlamps.

For once Mr Munson, I agree, Osram Nightbreakers are brilliant. Jesus has them in his Trophy and they look brilliant and don't blind other road users. If you're going to do it either get xenon's from a 1*2 or get something similar to the aforementioned bulbs.
