High EE bills?

I must admit I don't keep track of my phone bills, but I noticed on my bank statement that they're charging me nearly twice my monthly bill (£68 a month when it should be £35).

I don't even use my phone that much and whenever I max out my data I just wait for it to renew. I've downloaded the EE app and it says they're billing me for 'new charges out of plan' which is another £14.58.

Can anyone explain before I ring them up and wait on hold for the next 3 days!?

As above.
Login to your online billing (this will require you to register if you haven't already, which isn't difficult) and all the answers will be revealed.
Most likely scenarios:-
non-geographic phone numbers
MMS (photo) messages
Premium text services
Excess / Overseas data.

But yeah, EE will be better informed to answer this question than CS.

Cheers.

I was more kinda wondering if anyone has experienced the same... I've asked at work today and it seems most people have had issues with EE.

Most people have issues with phone networks when they get a bill, nothing new there.
But seriously, login and have a look, if something is actually wrong, THEN get on hold to them.
Out of interest, when you bought / upgraded your last phone, did you take any kind of discounted-rental deal? As when they run out you don't get a warning.

When I was with EE i'd never go over my minutes etc but will always end of owing them like £20.00 more than my contract somehow. EE will have the answer though lol

how often do you call your answerphone ?

thats the one most people forget about , and nowadays most operators charge for you to pick up messages

add answerphone plus a few 0843 numbers and the odd pic message and your into extras in a fairly decent way .

its no different on o2 or vodaphone as i have those as well .

Every contract i've had the bills never what it's advertised as. Tried giffgaff, always £10.

I use EE now because of the free calls and texts anywhere in Europe, the bill fluctuates with them to.

because its virtually impossible to not have usage outside of the plan if you actually use it .....

its the same with them all , but my bills are pretty similar month on month .

EE are a funny bunch. My old contract was meant to be £66 p/m but I always ended up with bills around £70-75...

Now I've gone down to a £28 p/m contract and they're constantly taking less out! £25ish :expressionless: weird. Not complaining. Unless I get hit with a big bill to catch up at the end of the 2 year period!

I never go over on my bill, when my data runs out the data stops, I mainly iMessage and whatsapp and phone other mobiles. EE seems alright to me, but I'll probably move to giff gaff next time as they are considerably cheaper

Sorry for the late reply... Thanks for the responses!

I've downloaded the app and registered with EE, and I've read a breakdown of my bill. It seems as the reason it's so high is due to calling 0870 numbers and calling my answer phone as suggested. I never knew I could view my bill in detail and keep track of things so easily, so at least I've gained something from this

I was going to say it must be your usage, as within the last few years using T Mobile and recently moving to EE sim only, I rarely get bills at more than my rate, and if info it will be due to sending MMSs or calls to some 08* numbers like a company.
