Hints/ Tips on fitting powerflex dog-bone bushes to ph2

  172DD Cup
hi, just got my dog-bone bushes delivered. do i need to fit the bushes a particular way up, or get my dremel out for anything?

Dead easy mate, a bench vice is best but a 'g' clamp should work.

I did mine in a vice. Just press a socket that will fit through the gap on the alloy onto a larger socket to allow the rubber bush to come out.

The poly ones push in by hand. I used a scoth pad to clean the mount out and abit of washing up liquid to lube (as it dry's unlike grease).

i will add 1 thing, make sure you check the metal tubes 1st before you press them in, they have different centre hole sizes, the bolts on the dogbone are different so just check before fitting, i made this mistake.

still not fitted them yet, busy weekend. i've read a few threads concerning the polyflex bushes (albeit from 2008) about people experiencing damaged gearboxes and the like from fitting these bushes. are they safe?

  RS RIP
i also hesitated to fit them, but after not reading about any more probs (from 2008 indeed) with the threads being torn from the gearboxes i felt confident enough to trie them.

I will regularly check under the car how it's holding up though. My car has a bit more torque than normal and all has been fine for the last two months
