my main camera is this and its ace, quality is amazing
do i get another or is there an updated model? theres a million cameras listed on the hikvision site so impossible to tell
Do you need a certain hikvision nvr for colorvu?I've got this which is newer, the quality at night is quite frankly kind boggling 😂 I'd go for colourvu over dark fighter any day of the week

This looks awesome..
Just to clarify for someone looking to get a first security camera set up please..
No hardworking or mains connection is needed?
Other than connecting up somehow to a phone nothing else is needed?
That quality is amazing for the price if so

No bud, it's all done within the camera. Colourvu is basically just "full colour even at night"Do you need a certain hikvision nvr for colorvu?
As Matt touched on, unfortunately you can't just run this by itself as you need to run a cable to a box (nvr) which needs to be plugged in at all timesThis looks awesome..

They do this but I'm unsure about compatability! I'm guessing it would but I'd have thought I'd have heard more about them if they were any good.shame hikvision dont do a video doorbell to link with nvr
Ordered from this link last night and they have just refunded me, no reasoning at all. And companies wonder why everyone uses amazon!I've got this which is newer, the quality at night is quite frankly kind boggling 😂 I'd go for colourvu over dark fighter any day of the week

That's really weird mate, they were really good when I ordered. Wonder if its a stock issue perhapsOrdered from this link last night and they have just refunded me, no reasoning at all. And companies wonder why everyone uses amazon!
Depending on Camera spec maybe a touch more. Had my hikvision setup for years and love it, way better quality than my neighbours setup. Once setup you never have to touch it, very reliableI'm still tempted to get a set up for home, and would certainly want those colourVu. I reckon a 4 cam set up with NVR, cables etc, we're looking at £1100.00-ish? Then just have to install myself
Mine was way cheaper, around 800 for 4 cameras and the best nvr I could get within my budget but I was kindly gifted the hard drives which obviously reduced the costsI'm still tempted to get a set up for home, and would certainly want those colourVu. Always better to position them on corners to reduce blind spots. How do you all work out positioning? I know its a stupid question but its something that very easily escalates to 'cameras f**king everywhere' which I dont really want!
An example is the side of my house, do I want a camera overlooking the access to the side, or do I want it halfway down to cover the side door? Or both?
Good earth, screenshot your house and then go on paint and draw some lines that match the peripheral angle of the cameras. Each camera will have a different viewing angle, I went for the widest so I needed less cams. How do you all work out positioning? That will give you an idea on the viewing angle and what you'll capture with that specific camera.
Very nice, which cam did you go for in the end?New camera arrive and I got one of these hoods as well, give the camera a bit more protection. And hopefully stop a few rain drops getting on the lens
The one you linked, just on amazon. Cost a few more quid but arrived next day.Very nice, which cam did you go for in the end?
You're going to love it mateThe one you linked, just on amazon. Cost a few more quid but arrived next day.

You need to assign the new camera the correct ip name by opening the camera settings directly.knew it wouldnt just plug in and work
hikvision stuff never does.
connected and preview works, but live feed doesnt work and its not showing on the phone app
POE settings are showing its drawing well and i deleted and added again but nothing. also restarted the NVR

They do match I just took the photos at different times. One before deleting camera one after re adding. You need to assign the new camera the correct ip name by opening the camera settings directly.
It will be given a random ip address when you plugged it in.
I can see you have a camera ending in. .2
But on your camera list there isn't that end with that number
Not sure on the connectivity issues.oh hikvision... such a wanker!
so ive relocated my dark fighter, works fine on the NVR but nothing on the app. it just says offline.
restarted NVR, deleted old camera and re-added dark fighter. deleted NVR from app and re added and it just says camera offline.
no idea how to resolve that.

No worries, I'll have to ask on cctv forum. Not sure on the connectivity issues.
That camera is upside down btw, not sure if you knew just letting you know.
Not sure why you need the cover tbh! Not had one time where I've had rain on the lense in 8 months on all 4 cams
