hi, just got my clio monday night and its totally standard except from what the receipts i received with it describe as a "powerflow full stainless system" now the problem is that the tailpipe sticks out really far and looks stupid and theres also a rattling coming from inside the backbox which sounds like a piece of weld/solder has come loose and is bouncing about.

i dont really want to pay for a standard exhaust putting back on but i would like a performance exhaust which remains hidden behind the bumper as it should.

if it is possible to do this then will the new backbox fit onto the rest of the powerflow piping or is changing the lot my only option?

BTW its a 51-plate 172

any other suggestions would be much appreciated,

Have a look at K-Tec Racing, they do a stealth exhaust system for your car but not sure if just the back box will fit to your existing system.

thanks, seems a bit pricey as id like to get away with just having to buy the backbox. ive just emailed k-tec to see what they can do for me.

Take it to your local Powerflow dealer, they'll be able to fabircate a new back box to go on your existing system. Powerflow come with a lifetime guarentee, but unfortunaltey for you, only for the original purchaser of the exhaust system. But if you did have any work done at Powerflow, obviously that work would be covered.

they are a franchise i think so they have them all over. not sure if the burnley one is close to you, but thats regarded as one of the best and is where i got mine done. well worth the trip IMO.

Dude, check the three bolts holding the cat to the down pipe I had a horrible rattle but it was simply a loose nut/bolt making the noise.

corse k-tec would say that lol. near enoguh any exhuast would fit on with the right amount of custom work. just find a stealth back box and cut the old one of and weld the new one on.

off to powerflow it is then, sheffield is prob closest, gonna ask for a "stealth" backbox then to fit straight onto the powerflow system that is already in place, just one question, if i did put a standard 172 system back on would it lose bhp? is the powerflow system designed to make it quicker?

powerflow will increase paperwork figures yes but nothing really you'd be able to notice imo off a backbox.

all they'll do is change the tip on the backbox in place alread to a stealth one mate.....no need t change the backbox. just the tip !
