What does a failing dephaser pulley sound like??? If I un plug the actuator it's quiet if I plug it in and rev it when it switches over it makes a terrable noise not un like valves hitting pistons. rattly. Any one had this happen

Mate, just put my Cup into JMS with a faulty dephaser. It sounds fine when you start the car cold, as it warms up you will begin to hear a 'diesel' like engine sound. Usually goes away on higher revs but very noticeable on idle. Best get it seen to mate.

Run a quick search on here for "DePhaser noise" and you'll find lots of posts about it, and maybe a few videos with the noise featured.

Didn't know that Ranault 5's had them though :S
