Hi All,
New to the forums and a new Clio owner. I bought a 182 a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying driving the car. However, I took the car on a road trip and came across a problem. After driving at 75 - 80 mph for 1 - 2 hours it gets harder and harder to change gears. It starts with 3rd gear, but also effects 5th too. The gear lever goes 90% of the way in but then stops and it doesnt go into gear. If I slow down for a while, or leave the car overnight, the problem goes away. Besides that, the gearbox shifts fine and doesnt crunch when changing gears.
I'm guessing the gearbox oil is getting hot and causing problems shifting but the car only has 11 000mi on it, so I dont think that the oil should be due for replacement. I'll be changing the oil to see if this fixes it, unless someone can suggest a different cause of the problem. I'm hoping the gearbox doesnt need replacing.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?
Thanks,
Daniel
