Hotmail - Endless Spam?

Hi folks,

Im hoping theres a reasonable solution to this as im being driven mental!

A couple of weeks ago, out of nowhere seemingly, my Hotmail account suddenly became inundated with Spam.

Im getting, on average, around 15 emails per day. All of them are utter rubbish - Phishing mostly.

Ive tried changing my spam settings, to no avail.

Is Hotmail just absolute tosh these days? Id really rather not have to change my email address entirely as thats a monumental task!

I get many spams.

Thankfully it ends up being filtered out and I just check the spam folder periodically for anything that might have gone in by mistake then mark it as safe.

I haven't checked any settings, it just happens.

My mrs has this issue. Constantly blocking stuff, unsubscribing etc, changing all the settings as suggested on similar reddit threads.. not found a fix yet!

Mine used to do a pretty decent job of filtering. It seems to have gotten incredibly drunk and just lets bloody anything through now!

Its driving me round the f**king bend. They seem to come through in blocks too. Nothing yesterday, already had close to 10 this morning alone. Same s**t. 'Your AV protection has expired'. 'Youve Won XYZ'. Mad!

I had this issue towards the end of last year. Out of nowhere, non stop spam. Eventually it stopped but it does flare up again every now and then.

Might be Microsofts spam filters are dogshit, or they've changed something and fucked it all up?

Are they from fake domains or identifiable ones you can block?

Yeah it comes in waves for me. There was a time when I had loads but just kept blocking them. I don't get many now but now and again I'll have a week where I get a few a day.
