How can I tell if the dogbone mount needs re-bushing?

I've been under the car and wiggled it about, used a screwdriver to put some force on it but didn't really move. Is this a poor way to test a bush/mount?

The bush was visibly damaged on mine, you could tell just by looking when it was still on the car.

Just change it anyway, its a good upgrade especially with e/mounts
