I can hear a rubbing sound coming from the back i sure off it only really happens when got some1 else in car with me but i can figure out where its coming from, how can you tell is the shock has gone, it one of those noises that prob aint a big deal but bugs you everytime you hear it.

Sit on the tailgate and bounce it, if ones gone, you'll notice the difference when you bounce on either side.

Is the car lowered?

yeah 20mm and i got 17s i had a look but cant see any where its rubbing

have a look at the rear shocks, if they have a damp film all over them they are well and true fooked!!
