How do i remove & refit gearknob???

mole grips and twist off the old knob, its glued so may need force

dont know if you can fit a ph1 172 knob straight on though, let me know if ya can

they can be a pain to get off.
I pealed back the rubber bit..and twisted the white plastic bit of fwith a pair of molegrips.
its stuck on with smelly glue.

i am guessing the one on it now will pull off and you would need to glue the new one on or use grub screws?

my new one hads a little hole with an alan key in it.
You get plastic sleaves with the new one..just use the one with the tightest fit..then
you pop your new one on the top and tighten it up.

Does the new renault one just push on or do i glue it??

If so what glue??

Smelly glue!!??

only kidding..I would imagine it will come with everything you need to fit it.

The stuff that held my original in place looked like PVA glue..if that helps.

Just got the alloy knob in a bag.

i got a genunie v6 knob, i was gonna sell couldnt' get it to work with my 172, first of all the inside was to small and didnt' fit on teh shaft, so i had to drill it bigger inside, then the inside plastic inside was too large for the reverse sleve to lift up. so i ended up breakign a bit of, so it fits sort of but needs gluing in place or something. anyone want to buy it pm me, £20 inc postage or offers
i can take some pics
