How do i watch 1080p videos in better quality uploaded off my camera?

Hi, i am a newbie to this sort of stuff so any help will be appreciated

I have uploaded video's off my camera onto my computer, the videos are in 1080p, but when i play them they are crap quality.

They are been played on windows media player, does this let you play hd vids?

What do i need to do to watch them in 1080p hd so they are really clear etc? Do i need to download something to make them better quality? If so, are there any free downloads?

They play fine, but they dont look hd or very good quality etc.

its more than likely the settings on your camera

1080p is just a resolution but with a crap bitrate it'll look s**t

right click the file and go to properties and go to details, in there is data rate, it ideally it should be over 4000kbps
