How do we work this transfer of plates?

Trying to work out how to organise the following transfers:

My old 1.4 has T3 T*J on it.

I want to move T3 T*J onto my new 182.

My brother is having my 1.4, which he wants to put his W4 W*J onto.

His W4 W*F is currently not assigned to any car.

How do we do this with forms etc ? i have no idea!

the both of you have to goto your nearest DVLA office with your V5's and your brothers retention certificate, your bro's should already be paid for, so i think in the only person paying to transfer a plate here is you.

and your tax discs too!!!!

That sounds right. You may need to apply for your transfer first onto the 182 and when the ammended v5 for the 1.4 is returned to you then your brother can then use this to assign his own plate.

The DVLA Local Office's don't do the changeover on the spot anymore - took about 3 days thru the post tho so not too bad.

If you ring them they'll send you a cherished regs transfer pack, all the info's in there
