How do you adjust a 172 handbrake?

Any help on this would be mint. If you know any sites with walk through guides, pictures anything. My mot is due and the handbrake aint holding the car as well as it should. Cheers.

if its a mk1 i believe theres a thing within the hand brake , unclip the plastic over it and u should see it.

mk2 have one of the 1 cable - 2 things , but its located under the car above the cat/ heat shield

Dads mate owns a garage so its goin up on a ramp tomorrow. Recon trying this could of fooked the handbrake?

Should be self adjusting on the rear calipers.
