How do you drive yours...

  182>FRS>VX220 now 350Z

Do you drive your 172/182 with ESP on or off and why? Im tending to drive with it off, thinking that with it on may lure me into a false sense of security if its on....not sure tho, what do you guys think?

if you follow that train of thought youd question whether to have ABS turned on or off if there was an option.

In case of an accident anything that can help you stay on the road without hitting anything else is a bonus surely?

I drive with mine on, dont think it really matters mine only ever comes on when i messing around, like lighting up wheels going round corners i see it as a type preserver

i drive with my seatbelt on, i dont think it matters it only keeps me in the seat when im messing around.

i leave mine alone, it only brings the "ESP working" light on in the wet, but then i was spinning the wheels and going round a roundabout at 3am sideways!

Dont worrie about it leading you astray, its rubbish, it only kicks in it your doing something stupid, most of the time it just sits there and watches for you to be stupid, then it steps in and sorts it out before you make too much of a dogs dinner out of your car

I leave mine on most of the time now.

Turn it off to have fun.

I leave it on unless Im on track, has saved me a couple of times when there was literally nothing I could do ie brake in a corner cos some arsehole didnt see me, back end went had I not had esp turned on I would have had the nice choice of catching it and hitting the crash barrier, let it go and hit the barrier with the back end or drive straight into the aforementioned arsehole, either way had I not had it turned on the car would have been damaged.

i take it that the esp on/off switch covers traction control as well.

How well does it stop wheelspin coming out of slipperly junctions? This is the reason why i purchased the control pack, to get out of a junction quickly with minimum of wheelspin.

Have no choice as its the Cup to leave it OFF

Personally I dont like driving aids. I want to know exactly what im doing and how the car reacts to it. If you need to use ESP it on the roads then your not in control, going too fast and your not looking far enough ahead.

All IMHO of course.

Must admit I wouldnt mind the option in the heavy rain and snow tho. But then again Pah ! If TVR drivers dont need this stuff then nor do I !
