how does the headlight washers and auto leveler work?

ok so ive got xenons on my dci but i want to fit them 100% as they would have been from the factory (ie headlight washers and auto leveler)

now im assuming the cars use a different washer bottle with a 2nd pump on it for the headlights? how is this wired? trying to work out if my car will be wired for this pump already?

and same for the auto leveling how is that wired?

cheers

No it'll most probably have the smaller tank fitted with a single pump in it. Tbh I wouldn't bother even entertaining doing any of this, its as much software based (ie will need clip even if it can be done) as it is hardware.

do they not squirt the lights when you do the screen? if so they could simply share the same pump and just tap off the current hose?

Auto leveling is down to the level of the rear beam i believe.

Yeah they do the lights when you do the screen holding the stalk for a couple of seconds, when the lights are switched on. It does sound like there's a separate pump when it does them though.

Da did this to his old 1.2, try pm'ing him about this thread he might help you.

I disconnected the auto levellers on the 172 btw Martin, seems they can't understand when the car is lowered, if you parked it in front of a wall and watched the beam they were constantly adjusting up and down a few cm.

Hi :)

I did indeed add the washers to my 1.2, I didn't however mess about fitting the larger tank and updating the ECU (the delayed headlight washers are ECU controlled).
All I did was simply branch off the washer hose under the scuttle panel, run it down the nearside of the engine bay and down behind the bumper as it does OE. Think the parts, including the washer jets cost me £40 all in. Took me an hour to fit and all worked spot on :)

Didn't attempt the auto leveller myself, but it HAS been done before - I looked into it.
