how easy is it to run cables etc through 172 to boot from head unit

ive got a vibe 10" 1200 watt sub with 800 watt amp i want to install in the boot of my 172 im changing the head unit to a jvc head unit kd-g772 then il upgrade front and rear speakers at later date . just need to no how is is it to run cables etc from front to back . thanks

Take the kick strips up and the base of the back seat out and run them down there. piece if cake. only cos i do it for a living!

cheers dan so there is no need to remove front seats to get cable under carpet etc . just run them along passengers side

it's real easy....

only slight struggle will be getting the power lead to the battery but there is a grommet in the passenger foot well where the cable for the bonnet release goes through.

Will need to unclip the header tank and power stearing tank to be able to get your hand behind the padding...

it really is simple! just go take a look, don't need to disconnect the tanks just unclip them so you can pull the padding forward a bit...if I can do it then anyone can! lol

the best thing to do is unclip the tank, (bit of a bugger to do) then lay it to the side. get a long piece of metal like a coat hanger, sharpen the end and poke through the grommit, then you have to tape the red power wire to the metal you put through the grommit, put on lots of tape btw, then pull the metal wire back through and your red cable should feed through the grommit.

that's how i did it and yes you will end up with sh*t loads of scrapes and scratches on your hands!

you dont need to remove the seats no. there a pain if you do tho cos we somtimes put amps under them and they are bolted from under the car. why, i have no idea????

i unbolted the wing a put it through there cant really see it and tokk me 2 mins to do so when it sells i can take it off easy
