HOW IS THIS MANAGED (172 PARTS ON 1.2)

  Shdhdhd
in order to fit a 172 bumper to a 1.2 you need 172 wings. sounds simple enough. i know you can fit a 172 bumper to 1.2 but with a bit of messin with the bumper to make it fit.

what i dont get is if you have fitted 172 bumper and wings.. i dont get how 172 wings and 172 side skirts fit correctly on 1.2 or do they not without some modding and adjusting?

would be great if you could fill me in cos i have looked at pictures of both cars and it just doesn't seem like it would work but im sure some people have..

172 bumper + 172 front wings on a 1.2 to fit to 172 side skirts. how is it done basicly. if it cant be done say it cant be done?

172 wings and 1.2 wings are the same except for the 172 wings being slightly wider. Ergo the 172 bumper fits without any modification

They all have the same fixtures and fittings and the sideskirts clip or are glued in place. End of. Simple job. Next please.

so i can fit a 172 bumper straight onto 1.2 wings without any modding what so ever then just fit replica skirts :S

A 172 bumper will not fit directly onto std wings, it can be done but requires a little work(check the guides section).

better off buying 172 wings with the front bumper, then you can get the skirts. a local bodyshop should be able to fit them for you for a few quid and they look loads better

no idea what u just said there mate.

but u need 172 bumper

+

172 wings

172 skirts- that is fitted using a renault skirt fitting kit.

No mate. What I said was the 172 wings are wider than the 1.2 wings so there would be no need for modification to the 172 front bumper because it'd be a direct fit which you seem to know already...

right to clear this up there are two ways of doing it.

on is to go down the official parts route, this would comprise of swapping the front bumper, rear bumpers, wings and sideskirts. but this is more expensive as you need more parts which are more expensive (as there from renault) and requires more painting. (as you have the wings and i was told you would need to blend them into the bonnet too when painting them)

the unofficial route, and the one i picked is to modify the front bumper onto the standard wings. therefore you will need front & rear bumpers and replica skirts (which are only £60)
i made a guide showing how i fitted the bumper to the wings

i am pretty pleased with the results i have managed to achieve and with a bit of time and effort you can make it look good but still on a budget.
