How long to fit CV Boot?

Car  Impreza WRX
Hey guys, just like to check that im not getting done by a garage.

Booked in tomorrow for the passenger side to get done, just wondering how much is the part, and approx how long does it take?

Cheers, Paul

two methods, the proper longer way of taking the shaft out, or the easy slide on boot, depends what they do. unfortunately can't give you the book times for either, so consider this a free bump :)

Book time for Driveshaft joint gaiter - outer left is 2.1hours according to Autodata which includes:
Gearbox oil- Top up
Driveshaft - Remove and Install
Driveshaft joint - Remove and Install
Refit Wheel

its all about the motrio cv boots, half hour to fit, no to need remove shaft, last longer than factory ones and cost £8 for the boot, straps and grease.

Motrio are really good now. Off topic but have you lot sold many of their tyres out of curiosity?

I really can't imagine why it would be cheaper to have a new drive shaft than fit a new outer boot?. Can someone please explain this?.

depends on the boot type, slip-over is cheaper. for the regular ones you need to seperate the shaft from the constant velocity joint and reassemble. driveshaft exhange only is quicker.

Ok so it takes longer and I guess if a garage was doing it, it'd cost quiet a bit. But for someone who does it themselves its only going to cost more time?.
