How Low?

Im looking to lower my 03 clio 1.2 16v. Its got 17" wheels and a bodykit. I was looking at 40mm but will that make a difference? Is 60mm too much, cant be bothered with rubbing and speed bumps and stuff :dapprove:

im on about 80mm rear, 60mm+ front on 17"s. coilovers

p.s: even with 40mm (more like 45 with heavier diesel) I have scraped a few kerbs on parking spaces!
