How Many Dints You Got

I know it was just a matter of time and I cant imagine how pissed off those of you who have had paintwork deliberately marked with screwdrivers etc must have felt but Im pissed about some t**ser having given my 172 its first dint.

6 months old, 6k on the clock, selective careful parking at work & few reluctant trips to supermarket and last week got my first dint on passenger door, paint & lacquer ok but when cleaned you can see dint when looking down length of car at angle

Other than that have only got scratch on windscreen, slight mark on dashboard & drivers seat & marked front bumper after some idiot reversed into me at a junction

NONE delberete ones ne way!! alot of stone chips though, guesss thats what happens when u drive up the hoop of V6 in Scotland!!

Had one dint, called out a dent repair specialist. £40 later, dint is no more. Got loads of light scratchs on front bumper from combination of lazy paperboys and country lane driving.

Had some fu£$%r key all way down 1 side of my exclusive the other year :( that was expensive... rekon it was some1 drunk.

Ive also got a little dint on the bumper from the 1st time i took car on m-way (still during runing in ) less than 1k on the clock.. and a stone from a lorry bounced up and dinted a little section . all i could do was touch it up :(

Its frustrating cos no matter what u do to proct your car.. some1 will always do something to it or something will happen... its just that little thing called life! just got to remember.. no matter how much u love it... if it gets hurt it can always be repaired :D

black-cat

what do these specialists actually do to remove dint ? id be interested in having one have a go at mine

Ive heard different reports from different people. A friend of mine has a small dent on his z3 and the repair guy was from dent devils and used a vacuum pump to pull it out. The guy I called lived very close to me, when I phoned hinm up he explained that he fitted private jobs in between appointments at dealers (so he must be good). He explained that the dealers book him whenever they have a transporter due as it is fairly usual to have one or two cars arrive with small dents in somewhere.

When he arrived he removed the seals around the passenger door (dent was in rear three/quarter panel) and used a small pry bar to lever the dent out. He then used a tiny little hammer and what appeared to be a pointed bit of plastic to finish the repair off (this part took ages) he actually even managed to simulate the orange peel effect in the paintwork and the dent is almost impossible to spot now.

Scratch on the Back right Drivers side quarter pannel by a knife or something...

Wasnt happy... also a little dint on both sides of the sill near the door handle on the quarter panel... again not happy!

Going to get them all fixed at once i think... rather than spending money on on of them now... going to be pricy though...

Spooky ... was just a moment ago looking the Yellow Pages at dent repair companies. Got an annoying ding on my boot lid (plus some tiny crazing on the bumper below) were some b*****d ran a trolley or something into mine.

Also theres the bad paint scuff on my front bumper ... but I know the stupid f**ker who did that :) The one and only time Ive ever damaged a car myself ... just flown in from a business trip and wasnt paying enough attention when I put car away in my garage.

Anybody got any recommendations for quality dent removal in the Southampton area? Lot of these big companies want £80 per panel, when I dont need the panel doing just one easily accessible ding.

stone chips all over the bonnet, front bumper and front wings, a scratch on front bumper which i have no idea where it came from and every other panel has a scratch of some sort, dont know about the roof tho, will need to get a respary soon i think, gunmetal i think

None yet - only had it 2 weeks... Therell be a couple soon as the people at work couldnt give a monkeys if they knock your car to bits...

17 months old, have a small vertical dent in each door - due to people hitting my car with their doors in car parks.:(

And a large dent in the nearside rear quarter/arch where my sister hit a post when taking driving lessons in B&Q car park, will be getting round to fixing it soon.

I have two little dings on my rear passenger wing, a scratch on the bottom left of my front bumper, and a machine-gun stone chip effect on my bonnet! :(
