.... for the car to feel like it does when the rear seats and boot carpet are out?

Feels just that tad quicker and I like it!

I managed to take out 46kg which is about 7BHP per ton, so you'd need to add 7 to it with the seats and stuff in.

might weigh the seats - can't see just the seats being 46kg - or I'm stronger than I think! :)

Few posts kicking about with the actual weights but iirc back seats are around 15 kgs so not much weight in them although every little helps..

Front seats are pretty heavy by all accounts. Sure their around 30 - 40 kgs mark?

Thanks chaps, thinking the rear seats back in for practicality (plus it gets warmer quicker in this weather ) , I was always getting lighter more supportive buckets and matched inlets so looks like I'll be happy with the outcome!

i took out my rear seats and brace accross the boot floor and worked out it was 4bhp per ton never noticed a difference apart from rear end coming round to meet the front when going quickly round bends didnt feel safe at all.my stuff weighed 19kg

Getting a set of Matched Inlets I reckon you give you that feel, you get quite a lot of torque and power if you dont have RS stamped inlets like my cup.

Still gains to be had from RS ones. Only difference between non RS and RS inlet is the difference prior to port work depending on the cast. After gives the same end result

RS inlets are only any good if you want the best from a stock car
