how much bhp do i roughly have now?

i got new twin pipe sports back box fitted and got K&N induction kit fitted. its a 1.2 8v mk1 phase 1 clio. how much bhp do you reckon i have now? i think before without the induction kit and the back box it was standard 65bhp but not sure how much it is now??

will probably be the same, you will get no BHP gain from those mods

Sorry but the same as paul! what cc is it? if its the 1149 you got 60bhp standard and if its the 1171cc you got 65bhp.

possible loss due to age = 10%
backbox and k&n fittted (added bhp 0)
possible loss due to open filter = 5%

Approx bhp now 50bhp? ish....

its a 1171cc . ohh is it..well got new water pump fitted and new timing belt and new alternator belt few days back...so even thou u rekon still no gains?

Change backbox to full system, replace induction kit with standard airbox with replacement filter and re do airfeeds, and a decat. prob see 68bhp

also strip it, change suspension and brakes as its not all about power!

Well without knowing the age of your car its a restrictive element in modern cars produced after 1992 called a catalytic convertor or cat for short.

You remove the cat and replace it with a pipe called a decat = more free flowing exhausts gases.

decat - removes the cat...tho not good for MOT's.


Just save your cash and buy a old 172 or something..

take it off for mots but if ur cars earlier than k plate you dont need a decat, am i right people, i no its something along them lines.
decat and very good air feeds will make the car perform better for cheap money!!

nah ud have to take it off for mot depending on the emissions, these days probly take it off unless u no the mot person as they will charge you if it fails!decats are only about £30 i think!make exhaust pop too!

you can get one for your car, its the same age as mine! Youll need to keep your cat for mots though otherwise youll fail!

Your probably better doing styling mods...its a slow car and always will be unfortunately,either save up for a cheap 172 or do some styling,no point wasting money on adding BHP to a car that won't get much quicker.
